just hello

Lately, I've been neglecting my blogs, my own personal diet, but I have kept up with my exercise. . Right now, I feel like my body is going through a plateau both physically and mentally. The familiar laziness has dawn upon me once again. The root of it I am still unsure, but maybe because summer is around the corner? possibly.

However, on another note, what I do enjoy watching is the Biggest Loser, and if you guys aren’t familiar with this show you should definitely tune in. The show airs weekly on Tuesdays on NBC at 8pm. The show embodies contestants all over America who are dealing with severe unhealthy weight issues that will eventually threaten their lives currently or later. The show challenges these individuals through grueling work-outs and dieting,  lastly ending their efforts in a weigh-in that will ultimately determine their destiny of staying another week or going home for good. Elimination is held each week. So far they are in mid-way through their season, and lost a combined 1,000 pounds and counting!  If that isn’t mind boggling than I don’t know what is! Seeing relatable people achieving real life-long results is amazing.. It makes me want to work out 10x harder.

Watch the show tomorrow and tell me what you think=)

Quick and Easy Workouts

Need a quick easy work out recipe? Here's a few everyday activities that are not deemed as "work-outs" but in reality are:

  1. go on a 30minute walk, sweat things up and challenge yourself on a route with hills
  2. if your taking public transportation, instead of getting off at your stop, get off a stop before and walk the rest of the way there
  3. bike with a friend and go explore a new neighborhood you've never been to
  4. if you have a gym membership, try an exercise class
  5. round up some friends and play a good ol' game of basketball
I hope this helps to just start your mind thinking of being ACTIVE. As for me, I'm spending my day chasing after my 6yr old and 2 yr old nephews..talk about a work out!

Up for a Challenge?

Feeling lost? No will power to change? Not even a clue on where to start? Well, I'll be your savior! for just 1 month I challenge you, to commit to my original diet. Are you really ready for change??

Cautious the times and days were made to accommodate my schedule, so you'll have to switch the times accordingly to fit your schedule WITH AN EXCEPTION your schedule must have the same hours of time gap that mine had. For example:  breakfast for me was at 11am then a serving of green tea was at 12pm. if your morning starts at 9am, then you'll have green tea 10am..and so on.

Monday---Sunday
11am
-1 pack of  plain oatmeal
-1 scoop of champion pure whey protein shake--chocolate& strawberry flavors are good
-1 serving multivitamin(1pill)
-1 serving fiber(2 pills)

12pm
-1 serving green tea

( BUY AT ANY WALGREENS, COSTCO, SAFEWAY) (2 pills)

3pm
-2 hard boiled egg whites
-can of tuna, if its the BIGGER SIZE ones that people get from COSTCO than eat 1/2 only
-fruit
-1 serving fiber(2 pills)

7pm
-1 scoop protein

9pm
- 1 can of tuna or eat the saved 1/2 can tuna from earlier
-2 hard boiled egg whites
-2 serving fiber(4pills)

Leave a comment for Q's & details on how to prepare the protein shakes, if interested;)

EXCITEMENT!!!

Wow I just did it!, finally found the courage to challenge myself and registered my brother (LOL) and I for the 2011 Bay to Breakers 12K race...12K just sounds more intimidating than merely saying 7 1/2 miles smh...not only will this be San Francisco's 100th anniversary of this yearly long awaited traditional race, but it will also be my very first!! Which is thus far, one of my greatest accomplishments! Time to mentally and physically prepare myself for this monumental day!

Eat, Not in Bliss

Ah, its Valentines Day! For some its another ordinary day, while others with a special someone are faced with temptations and decisions, by that I mean of course food! A few tips on navigating your Valentine's Day if your on a strict diet, like me is to:

1. try to fit in at least a 30min cardio-work out sometime in the morning, therefore you'll be burning calories throughout the day
2. eat Dark Chocolate if you must, avoid any other deadly sugary treat
3. try to have dinner as earliest as possible, even if its 5pm
4. order Seafood and Vegetables; grilled, steamed,or smoked, and avoid carbs as much as possible
5. lastly, dessert if you must devoured that tirmuirsu, red velvet cake, or something along the sugary carbs  then SHARE IT with only 1 order. (I would suggest fresh strawberries dipped in dark chocolate)
6. after dinner, take a nice walk with your significant other to digest the food better

A huge misconception about dieting, is that we must be super strict and never cheat. Well giving our bodies a "cheat" day, with an exception of making smart cheat choices is completely fine! Versus eating a cheeseburger or pizza is obviously not a smart cheat choice. The real reason, that we can make small tweaks and exceptions in our diets, is to throw your body off. After being on an extensive diet, sometimes your body needs that resistance and reminder of the fatty foods it once craved, which in turn will have no affect on you and only make your discipline stronger. So I hope you learn from this blog that allowing your body to eat bad, for 1 MEAL (not an entire day) is okay, of course this treat should only be awarded once a month with a good work out regime.

Until next time!

Time for Change

Let's admit it, its a "new year",  and I don't know about you, but a lot of people are always complaining about their weight, especially wanting to lose weight; "ohh im soo fat, working out is impossible for someone so fat like me", " I wish i could magically become skinny", " I don't even know where to start" and the whining goes on. Well majority of these people, have no guidance, no support, no will power, basically no platform to show them that YES they can achieve weight loss if given the proper fundamentals of dieting and working out.

For now, I will leave you with 5 things of why people should work out and diet:
1. to feel better
2. be healthier
3. gain self confidence
4. appreciation of food
5. YOU
